Abraham, the first general in the Bible.

Was thinking of Abraham. The first general in the army of Yahweh was Abraham. His name in the Hebrew language means to be strong, to protect, shield, and the Father of many nations. Abraham was a man of faith and strategist, who was leading a war against five kings that took Sodom and Gomorrah. From Genesis 14 we could learn that Abraham had his private trained army of servants. His army was built of 318 men born in his own house. There where armed with swords and spears. He was pursuing his enemy from Beersheba unto the territory of Dan which is a couple of hundred miles. We could learn from Abraham's strategic warfare that he divided three hundred and eighteen servants and hotly pursued thousands of soldiers at night and smote them to Hoban. In the morning it was all over. Abraham had won the battle and had victoriously rescued his nephew Lot and his family. He found the kings that had been taken prisoners and marched back home passing the city of Jerusalem. As they were crossing the mountains they were they were shouting the praises of Yahweh Nissi and had their divine appointment with the Melchizedek, king of Salem.

Then Melchizedek king of Salem brought out bread and wine; he was the priest of God Most High. And he blessed him and said: “Blessed be Abram of God Most High, Possessor of heaven and earth; And blessed be God Most High, Who has delivered your enemies into your hand.” And he gave him a tithe of all. Genesis 14:18-20

Abraham paid tithes for everything he had. He could give millions of dollars into the Melchizedek treasury that day. He was setting himself up for a real blessing. All great men that I met they have one thing in common and it is liberal cheerful giving. Faith is being liberal and faith is warfare. Abraham was a righteous man, and his heart was burning with a passion for true justice.
