Waiting upon the LORD is to know His will.
To wait upon the Lord, one must remain still and patient. From the perspective of the natural mind, this may appear foolish or passive, and some may see it as a waste of time or unproductive. However, for those of us who obey the voice of the Lord and submit to God's will, waiting upon Him produces strength, power, clarity and guidance. It gives us the right direction.
As warriors of Christ, it is important to use your imagination. You're holding a bow and arrow in your hand and your eyes are on the target, which could be a long distance away. Now, there is a very important moment of waiting. Produces focus, gains strength, measures distance, locks in the target, and finally shoots to the target.
Waiting upon the Lord is like being locked on a target. The key to hitting the target is to focus solely on it before shooting your arrow. Waiting upon the Lord is a kind of moment of stillness and quietness that brings everything into one point of right knowing and locking our focus on the target, allowing us to shoot the arrow and hit the point 100%. Knowing where to go is the purpose of waiting.
Waiting is the moment of not missing the goal. Waiting for it also represents knowing the will of God, and shooting forth like this arrow is to do the will of God. Knowing and shooting the target is what waiting is about. The act of waiting is the act of knowing. Waiting until you know that you know and are sure that you have the divine grace of God, divine inner ability, and empowerment of the Most High to go forth with supernatural force. Go forward and do great things for the LORD. Witnessing the manifestation of supernatural power through healing the sick, cleansing lepers, raising the dead, opening the blind eyes, opening the deaf ears, and bringing people who are sitting in darkness into the glorious marvelous light of salvation in Christ.
