Gazing into the Book of Life: A Vision of Redemption
Shalom, beloved Saints, friends, and family in Christ! Today, I want to share something truly astonishing that has captivated my spirit and requires our continual reflection. During the recent observance of Yom Kippur, a time of solemnity and sacrifice in the Jewish tradition, I found myself deeply pondering the significance of this day as it relates to us in Christ.
Yom Kippur signifies the holiest of sacrifices, and for believers, it reminds us of the ultimate sacrifice made by our Lord, Jesus Christ. His blood not only atones for our sins but washes them away completely. In this state of reflection, I found myself yearning for something more, asking God how many souls He longs to save in the beautiful land of Thailand.
As we know, God's will is that none should perish but that all should come to the knowledge of His grace. Yet, there is a divine plan that unfolds through our free will and decision-making. We can choose to follow Christ's narrow path, become His disciples, and share the gospel with the world, or we can choose to remain passive and miss the invitation to partake in His will.
For days, I was in a state of spiritual earnestness, groaning with the question: "Lord, what is the number of souls you desire to save?" I found inspiration in historical revivals, particularly the Welsh Revival, where a specific number of souls—150,000—were believed to be on the cusp of entering God’s kingdom. With a heavy heart, I turned to prayer and intercession.
On that sacred day of atonement, amid powerful prayer and angelic visitation, I experienced something remarkable. I was given an open vision of a vast, ancient Book of Life, where every name was inscribed in blood. This vision unfolded as I prayed with fervor, asking God to pour out His rain—both the former and latter rains—upon us. The revelation grew clearer as I saw water and blood mingling, reminiscent of Christ’s sacrifice on the cross.
As I gazed at the Book of Life suspended between heaven and earth, I observed the names being filled with the mingled rain of blood and water. It was as if each name written corresponded with God’s longing for souls to enter His kingdom. This glorious experience filled me with hope and understanding of the great High Priest, who forever lives to intercede for us.
Reflecting on Revelation 13:8, where it is mentioned that those who dwell on the earth will worship the beast are those whose names are not written in the Lamb’s Book of Life, I felt a profound call to ensure that our names are written there. In Revelation 21, we see more about this destined book, describing a future where only those whose names are inscribed in the Lamb’s Book of Life shall enter the eternal city.
Paul, the Apostle, enjoyed this assurance, as he addressed his coworkers in Philippians 4:2, urging them to labor for the gospel with their names already in the Book of Life. This promise extends to us today—a reminder that our relationship with the Almighty is not bound by traditional structures but is a direct connection through the blood of Christ.
Thus, my dear friends, I extend an invitation. This season, spend time seeking the Lord’s face, praying until you believe in your being that your name is indeed in the Lamb’s Book of Life. Remember, salvation comes through faith in Jesus Christ, and with humility, we can obtain eternal life.
Let us press forward, shedding every weight that hinders us as we wear the full armor of God and pursue a life that bears the fruits of righteousness. We are called to endure, like Christ, who overcame sin and shame, sitting now at the right hand of the Father, awaiting that glorious day when our names will be affirmed in the Book of Life.
As we move forward, continue to focus on your redemption, for our time is drawing near. Shalom!
