The Origins and Dynamics of Spiritual Warfare: The Battle Between Good and Evil
Spiritual warfare originated in heaven when Lucifer, driven by pride and deception, rebelled against God. He deceived one-third of the angels and led them into a war against Michael and his heavenly host. Michael and his angels were victorious, and Lucifer and his followers were cast out of heaven. Having lost their authority, they were relegated to the "second heaven"—the regions of the skies—and turned their focus toward humanity.
Since his expulsion, Satan has targeted men and women to destroy their relationship with God. He began by bombarding Eve’s mind with temptation, a process that lasted approximately three and a half years—a timeframe that mirrors the duration of Jesus’s ministry and temptation, as well as the patterns of tribulation described in the Book of Revelation. This reflects a biblical cycle: what has occurred in the past will occur again, as the end shall mirror the beginning.
Satan’s trajectory moves from the highest realms to the lowest. Following his eventual defeat on earth, Michael will confront him again when Jesus returns. Satan will then be bound for 1,000 years and cast into the pit of hell, which is his final destiny.
Until that time, spiritual warfare remains a reality, whether we acknowledge it or not. Invisible forces are raging, and the human mind serves as a battlefield and a platform for these powers. While these forces are not visible to the natural eye, humanity often acts as a vessel for this ongoing spiritual conflict.
