Amalekites, warlike.
Amalekites, members of an ancient nomadic tribe, are described in the Old Testament as relentless enemies of Israel. There was wandering in the desert. It was the tribe of Amakekite that attack the Israelis after their freedom from the Egyptian bondage and slavery. There is the curse of God upon them since then. The founder of the tribe was a descendant of Esau "Edom" and Ishmael. It was the same tribe that Joshua was fighting against while Moses was praying and going into deep warfare intercession with his hands held up in the air ( Exodus 17). Also, King Saul was sent on God's assignment to communicate through his prophet Samuel to destroy the tribe of Amalekites, along with their king Agag and everything that belongs to them (1 Samuel 15). They are others in the Bible who came from this tribe like Haman in the book of Esther, and Herod who live in the time of Jesus Christ. Herod massacred innocent Jewish children from 2 years old and under.
